Documentation:

Copies of doctors notes are available in Chinese. The Doctors' Chinese handwriting is very difficult to read on most forms/reports.

What occurred in her trauma surgery?

Six Surgeries

  1. Emergency Room excessive bleeding, left leg and left hip were removed
  2. Rotten & dead tissue around left side needed to be removed.
  3. Exposed wound wrapped with two pieces of vacuseal
  4. Replaced existing vacuseal with one new vacuseal.
  5. Again remove existing vacuseal replace with one new vacuseal.
  6. Remove Vacuseal and replace with skin from right leg to her hip.

 

Hospitalization lasted 2 months.

 

Evaluated for head, neck, and back injury. CAT scans/X-rays negative for injury.

What her condition is now (i.e., was a kidney or other organs removed?

Left hip bone 50% remaining.

No left leg.

Vagina 50% gone.

Urinary opening 50% gone.

Urinary tract broken then connected.

Cervix broken then reconnected.

No rectum.

No bladder or bowel control.

Kidney stones developed in both kidneys during hospital stay.

What procedures were done?

Colon bypass.

Bladder catheter inserted through her side.

Does she have a urinary catheter?

Yes

Does she have a bladder?

Yes

Does she have a colostomy?

Yes

What bone structures are in place?

Right leg and hip in good condition.

50% of left hip remains? (Doctor's handwriting difficult to ascertain if 50% hips remain or 50% of left hip remains).

What is her medical history otherwise?

Prior to accident, healthy except for difficulty swallowing. Drug therapy through IV was provided tonsillitis.

What is her social history and social circumstances?

Family is poor. Estimated family income $250 USD/month.

 

Parents are married. No sisters, no brothers. Four living grand-parents. Was attending kindergarten at time of accident.

 

Father is long-haul bus driver (gone 12 days, home 2 days). Mother stays home to provide care. Mother's father also provides care.

"sp status"

Some people are helping her and her family on weekly basis. Mother is "soft", dad less so. Feifei seems cheerfully receptive; enjoys receiving visitors and learning and singing songs about Him.

Forms & Documents:

1.      Copies of X-Rays

Film available, requesting digital copies.

Cat Scan film also available.

Digital photos of x-ray film will be posted if digital copies cannot be obtained.

2.Immunization records

All immunizations are current.

3.Passport

Both Feifei and her mother have passports.

4.Doctor: Can-Fly Form

Has been completed by local doctor.

5.Doctor: Communicable Diseases

9/25/2007 Blood tests confirm no communicable diseases.

6.Temporary Power of Attorney

Family has consented to assigning medical/custodial POA for Feifei.

7.Visa from USA Consular/Embassy

Awaiting invitation letter from USA.
